Tarleton State University Gets New Football Scoreboard

August, 2004 - Spectrum teamed with Signs and Designs in Stephenville, TX to install a new football scoreboard at Tarleton State University. The 36' long scoreboard boasts ultra-bold LED digits, prgrammable team names, and internally illuminated captions. The new scoreboard system was installed and set up to operate in sync with the existing football scoreboard to provide vital game information at both ends of the stadium. New LED 25 second clocks were also provided. While evaluating the new scoreboard system, the University Athletic Director, Lonn Reisman noted that the old football scoreboard, and all of the universities' other scoreboards were made by Spectrum. "They have always provided our scoreboards, and have been reliable and quick to respond if we ever need their help. Why switch to anything else?"

The new scoreboard system also includes a color animation screen. The animation screen keeps fans informed, provides entertainment, and allows sponsors to run ads during the game.  "We considered a Video Replay board, but decided on the Animation Screen because of the substantial cost savings. The Animation Board allows us to do many of the things we wanted to do, and with only one operator, instead of the 5-7 operators that a Video Replay Board would require," says Reisman.
